Dr Abdul Habra
Podiatrist
Dr Abdul Habra initially started his career as a massage therapist working with physiotherapists. He had an interest in sports science so decided to pursue a change in direction which ultimately led him to podiatry. It was a thriving field with a big demand and he was excited by the opportunities it presented.
“My passion is in the clinical setting - I feel as if it’s my home. It’s where I belong. As a podiatrist, I can help make people feel better and happier. I can address their issues and resolve their pain.
The reward is when a patient comes in with pain and leaves feeling better and with a smile on their face. If they have recovered from a sports injury or if a child’s foot alignment looks a lot better, that is quite a tangible outcome. That outcome varies from case to case but ultimately what I aim to do is to deal with the pain and promote healing and recovery.
I give 100% to my patients and work with passion. I enjoy being challenged and I’m always learning.”

Abdul has been practising as a podiatrist since 2010. He has a speciality in biomechanics and gait anomalies with special interests in paediatrics, sports injuries and orthotic therapy.
“The basic theory with paediatric podiatry is that if a child presents at a younger age, they are more likely to respond to treatment, because with growth you can get correction. When someone in their 30s has ankle, knee, hip or spine issues, often they will have had a history of childhood aches and pains that weren’t addressed.
Kids have more flexible, moulding feet and softer bones so they are more likely to respond. Treating issues early can prevent a lifetime of pain. There are a lot of misconceptions out there that kids will outgrow gait anomalies such as flat feet, but that’s not the case.
Likewise with orthotic therapy, insoles are a powerful way to treat many gait and foot ailments and anomalies. Insoles put the foot in the correct position so when a person walks, the force is distributed evenly through their body. I custom make insoles and medical insoles for my patients.”
As to the benefits of working in a holistic practice like Ideal Health Solutions, Abdul recognises the synergies between podiatry and the other disciplines and how it can help with the treatment of patients.
“When we look at podiatry and biomechanics we are looking at the body as a structure and a frame. Everything is interconnected and the legs are the foundation. If the foundation is misaligned it can cause damage in the upper extremities.
Podiatrists and chiropractors work together on a lot of issues as a lot of spinal issues can be caused by the lower limbs. Dr Daniel Zrnic and I certainly work closely together with many patients. I also refer to the other members of the team as required and this helps us to give our patients the best possible outcomes.”
When he isn’t at work, Abdul enjoys fishing, tennis and spending time with his family.
