Dr Shyamini Gunaratne is a specialist physician who practices within the field of Rheumatology, the branch of medicine devoted to the diagnosis and therapy of arthritis and other musculoskeletal conditions and autoimmune disease. She has a special interest in imaging and brings with her valued knowledge gained from training within the Nuclear Medicine field.
Dr Shyamini has served at multiple hospitals throughout Greater Sydney and completed rheumatology training at Westmead, Campbelltown and Concord Hospitals. During this time, she also developed her interest in imaging to enhance her diagnosis and management of rheumatological conditions and still likes to look at images and not just the report.
In addition to her private consulting practice, Dr Shyamini has held the position of Staff Specialist at Campbelltown Hospital and engaged heavily in teaching basic physician trainees and advanced trainees in Rheumatology.
