Our Ideal Health Solutions counsellor, Stefana, is motivated to help others work through their concerns through the therapy of talking. Having graduated with Bachelor degrees in both Science and Psychology she found herself still searching for the profession that was the right fit for her and that is how she came to study Counselling. Counselling gave her the tools to practice from a perspective in which respect is given to all individuals as experts in their own lives who along with a little guidance can be emowered to make the decisions they need to better their lives.
With a particular interest in helping adolescents she has furthered her studies in this area. "Many changes occur naturally during this time as one grows from child towards adulthood, and although individuals are no longer children and thus have a much greater understanding of the world around, the necessary problem solving skills may not yet be fully developed and may need support. Furthermore new endevours such as starting high school, new peers/friendships, new found freedoms such as driving, selecting subjects, entering the workforce to name a few can all bring about there own set of challenges which individuals may seek support for. I can be there to listen and support without judgement, helping best as I can as they navigate this pivotal time in their lives."

Stefana uses a range of therapeutic methods, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Person-Centred Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy and Mindfullness Based Therapies to help you work through your personal problems in a positive way. She can help you to clarify the issues and explore strategies to resolve or reduce them depending on the issue.

What to expect from your first appointment
As a form of talk therapy, no two sessions with a counsellor will be the same. The first session is a chance for you to establish a trusting relationship with Stefana to talk freely about deeply personal matters.

From there, she will help you to identify the stressors or triggers that are causing your issues and help you gain clarity and find different coping strategies and solutions to help you through your current concerns.
